Truly majesticRodenegg Castle
Rodenegg Castle looms ominously over the Rienz Gorge, and is counted among the largest fortresses of South Tyrol. The Iwein frescos dating back to the 13th century are especially noteworthy; they are considered the oldest secular (non-religious) murals in the German-speaking part of Europe and are viewed by throngs of visitors every year.
You can participate in guided tours of the castle from May to October.
